The first ever Turkey Vision Conference took place on May 17 in Iława, Poland with leaders and innovators present from all areas of the turkey production industry. 240 individuals attended from all over Eastern Europe including Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic. This group of influencers was comprised of turkey growers, veterinarians, professors, feed mills, financial institutions, poultry associations and representatives from processing plants.
Speakers were gathered from Canada, USA, Russia, and Poland. These experts included: Dave Libertini, Dr. Helen Wojcinski, William Alexander and Nico Buddiger of Hybrid Turkeys, as well as Dr. Edward Mailyan, DVM, Professor Jan Jankowski (University of Warmia and Mazury), Professor Andrzej Koncicki, (University of Warmia and Mazury), and Monika Drążek (BGŻ PNB Paribas) . A number of important global issues were discussed such as the growing demand for ABF production, changing turkey consumption patterns in specific markets, and the ever-evolving requirements from today’s end consumer.
Following the schedule of speakers, all the guests were invited to a dinner where there was opportunity for networking and celebration of the day’s events. Attendee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with great appreciation of the high calibre speakers and the opportunity to engage with others on a number of relevant topics.
With the excitement of the event established in Poland, we look forward to continuing this momentum into the next conference series set to be held in the USA and Western Europe in 2017.
