Meet Elana Huong

Elana, our Veterinary Manager for our Canadian operations has been a great asset to our team for almost two years. Her career path started in her undergrad at the University of Guelph where she was first exposed to working with birds through her membership in the poultry club. While attending the Ontario Veterinary College, Elana gained experience in an avian virology lab, at Turkey Farmers of Canada and even worked at a further processing plant to learn as much as possible about all areas of the industry.

After graduation, Elana joined Hybrid Turkeys and has been a positive and collaborative presence on the team. When working with others, she places high value on honesty, active listening, and timely responses to questions. Even in the face of emerging diseases, Elana finds fulfillment in working together to find solutions. "Together we can find solutions for identifying and treating these diseases", she says. "Diseases cause a lot of grief for both producers and vets, but it's inspiring to be a part of the team effort that is needed to find a path forward."

Outside of her busy schedule, Elana can be found enjoying her hobbies—baking sourdough bread, gaming, and even building her own computer! Her thirst for knowledge makes her an exceptional veterinarian and a hardworking member of the team.
