Meet Evan VanBeusekom

Evan has lived his whole life in the world of poultry breeding. Out in the country, his family raised animals of all kinds, and he took an active role in breeding and showing specialty poultry at 4H, county, and state fairs. Although Evan went to school to be a pig veterinarian, he found himself going back to poultry after graduating college.

Before coming to Hybrid Turkeys, Evan gained experience as a staff veterinarian for Jennie-O and worked as the head of the poultry department for Sioux Nation Ag Center. When asked about the biggest added value he brings for customers, he says a high degree of integrity and a strong work ethic, "I know what it’s like to be in the trenches…I became a veterinarian to make farmer's lives easier and to help them make more money."

With his upbringing and experience, he can easily relate to our customers' reality that raising livestock is never easy. When working with clients, Evan looks at the big picture when it comes to animal health and welfare as well as economics. If you're thinking Evan gets enough of working with animals through his job, you'd be wrong.

He continues to raise cattle and sheep and enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. We count on Evan and the whole veterinary team for their insight and proactive approach to ensure our customers' turkeys are healthy and thriving.
