Gary Hall receives Lifetime Achievement Award
The Canadian Poultry Service Industry has awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award to Gary Hall, Sales and Technical Service Representative of Hybrid Turkeys.
On October 6, 2022, the Poultry Service Industry Workshop (PSIW) resumed its annual in-person event in Banff, Alberta. During this event, Poultry Service Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2020, 2021, and 2022 recipients were presented. Gary Hall, Sales and Technical Service Representative for Hybrid Turkeys attended and was recognized as the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award winner due to his many achievements and dedication to the poultry industry for over 45 years of full-time service with Hybrid Turkeys.
Gary started out at Hybrid Turkeys by working in their breeder operations. Gary is a dedicated, hardworking individual who quickly moved through the ranks from Assistant Manager to Farm Manager, then to Area Supervisor of Hybrid’s North breeder operations in Elora, ON and South farms surrounding New Hamburg, ON as well. The Area Supervisor role included management of GP farms and a service crew. In addition to the local farms in Canada, Gary played a key role in helping to setup a breeder operation in the USA.
After 20 plus years of working in operations, Gary shifted his responsibilities to spend half of his time continuing his internal operations support and the other half sharing his experience and knowledge with Canadian customers as part of the Hybrid Turkeys Technical Service team. After a few years, he moved into a full-time technical service role to expand his support to not only breeder accounts in Canada, but also in the USA, South America, and Europe.
The best part of working in the turkey industry is definitely the relationships I have built over the years with our customers, Hybrid employees and contract owners. One of my greatest accomplishments while working for Hybrid Turkeys is working with a great team of employees and achieving salmonella negative status on all our operations. This had to be at least 20-25 years ago!
The Poultry Service Industry Awards are presented annually at the Poultry Service Industry Workshop (PSIW) in recognition of outstanding service to the industry. The dedication and contribution of these individuals have made the poultry industry what it is today. The Lifetime Achievement Award was added in 2015 to honor individuals who have played an integral role in advancing the poultry industry in Western Canada and celebrates their long-term commitment and unwavering dedication to the industry.
