Colony Tour Highlights

Turkey growers across North and South Dakota had the opportunity to connect, learn, and share during a recent Colony Tour hosted by Hybrid Turkeys.

Over a week-long tour, the team visited with multiple colonies throughout the Dakotas, offering growers insights into our breeding program and flock health trends across the industry. The event served not only as an educational platform but also as a chance to connect with growers in this key turkey producing region.

Focused Presentations: Genetics, R&D, and Health

Each stop on the tour featured focused presentations tailored to inform and empower turkey growers. Topics included:

  • Advancements in genetics aimed at creating the most value for growers
  • Ongoing investment in R&D and latest projects in the breeding program
  • An industry health update, with valuable information focused on aMPV (Avian Metapneumovirus) and recommendations to support strong flock performance

Growers asked questions and took the opportunity to discuss practical applications in their own operations.

Following each presentation, growers and team members gathered for a meal, allowing further conversations about challenges and opportunities in the barns and the industry as a whole.

It’s important for us to be on the ground, listening to growers, and working together to enhance flock performance and industry outcomes.
