Accelerating Genetic Progress: New Milestones Reached

We are excited to share several milestones in our ongoing investment in genetic improvement. Progress starts with the right foundations: high-quality data, a large volume of measurements, and a breeding infrastructure that allows us to use that information effectively.

We have promised to accelerate our breeding programs, and we are following through with investments in capacity and technology across EMEA and North America. Here are some of the important steps we have taken.

Growing Our Capacity, Building for Tomorrow

We have made great progress in expanding our breeding infrastructure in both EMEA and North America. This means greater capacity and more efficient breeding cycles. New pedigree barns were completed in EMEA and Canada in 2026, with additional expansion planned in Canada in 2027. It is an exciting step that gives us a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Seeing More with CT

We are also investing in additional computed tomography (CT) scanners for North America and Europe, which are now progressing through installation. CT technology gives us a closer look at traits that are difficult to measure accurately in live animals, including breast meat yield, leg health, and indicators linked to metabolic health.

This allows us to make progress in breast meat yield while also strengthening our focus on robustness and overall bird health. Together with growth and efficiency, these are important priorities in our breeding program.

Smarter Insights into Feed Efficiency

Additional feed stations have now been installed in both Europe and North America, doubling our feed-measurement capacity. This gives us more reliable information on feed intake, efficiency, and feeding behavior. It also helps us better understand nutrient use and growth patterns, as well as how feeding behavior connects with other traits of interest.

Turning Better Insights into Faster Progress

The exciting part is what these investments allow us to do. By combining more meaningful measurements with genomic information, we gain a clearer and more complete picture of the genetic potential of every animal. This helps us identify the animals that bring together the strongest combination of growth, efficiency, health, livability, and robustness and make confident selection decisions that move our product forward.

We are also using key performance indicators to keep this process on track. They give us greater visibility into how the program is performing, help us recognize opportunities earlier, and allow us to focus our efforts where they can have the greatest impact.

With more capacity, richer data, and sharper insights, we are well positioned to accelerate balanced and sustainable progress and we are excited to see the impact this will deliver in the years ahead.
