Feeding the Future: $70,086 Raised!
Our commitment to feeding the world extends beyond the work we do every day. It also means supporting the communities where we live and work.
In Ontario, Canada, Hendrix Genetics employees and contract partners have once again come together to support two local organizations making an important difference for children and families: Nutrition for Learning and The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.
Together with a company match, employees have raised and pledged an incredible $70,086 to help support programs addressing food insecurity and providing children with access to nutritious food.
Thank you for believing in the work, putting together such an engaging campaign, and for being such incredible champions in the community.
Many partnerships begin with enthusiasm; far fewer endure for a decade. Through changing circumstances and growing need, Hendrix Genetics has remained a steadfast supporter of local children and families.
Helping kids start their day ready to learn
Through the Keep Kids Fed at School program, students are provided healthy food through breakfast, snack and lunch programs.
These Student Nutrition Programs help ensure children have access to nutritious food in an inclusive environment, giving them the nourishment they need to learn, develop healthy eating habits and reach their full potential.
Connecting food, education and agriculture
Nutrition for Learning is also expanding its work through a new investment from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to launch its Food for All pilot.
The initiative will bring together elevated meal experiences, including warm, prepared meals, with a focus on Ontario-grown and produced food. For our organization and others working in agriculture, this creates an especially meaningful connection by helping students develop a deeper understanding of local agriculture while creating shared experiences around food.
We are so proud to support organizations like Nutrition for Learning and The Children’s Foundation. Every dollar raised represents hope, health, and opportunity for the children and their families within our community.
