IPPE Event Recap

From January 24-26, Hendrix Genetics participated in one of the world’s largest tradeshows for the meat, poultry, and feed industries, the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). This year’s event attracted around 31,000 attendees from over 120 countries across the globe.

With more booth traffic than ever before, team members were busy visiting and meeting with a steady stream of visitors interested in our products. Although some customers were still unable to join the show due to the impact of covid restrictions in their region, we saw a dramatic increase in show participation compared to previous years.

We were proud to kick off celebrations for Hybrid Turkeys’ 70th anniversary at IPPE with an honorary cake. During the week the team was able to connect with key customers including Cargill and West Liberty Foods as well as our partners at Cuddy Farms.

New technology including the use of robotics was discussed, which could enhance operations in Beresford, as well as new options for litter in our barns. Applications of these new concepts will be reviewed in further detail in the coming months to see if this would be ideal for us.

Another notable moment from the show was the signing of a renewal contract between the Hendrix Genetics Layer team and Incubadora Mexicana (IMSA-Sanfer). This renewal secures the delivery of Bovans White, ISA Brown and Babcock Brown Parent Stock to the Mexican market.  IMSA is the leader in the distribution of commercial chicks in Mexico where egg consumption per capita is one of the highest in the world. This new agreement will maintain and consolidate the leading position of our products in the Mexican market.
