Updated commercial nutritional guidelines for EMEA

We are pleased to publish updated nutritional guidelines for commercial turkey growers in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. These new guidelines have been enhanced with product specific guidance and an additional phase for optimal performance.

Nutritional guidelines are very important in balancing optimal performance with feed costs. Last year, we updated our nutritional guidelines with the creation of a specific EMEA nutrition guide. These guidelines were designed to take into account the unique raw materials used in each zone, the differences in management, and offer different formulations to meet the needs of each customer. We have now updated our guidelines, enhanced with product specific guidance and modified to add an extra growth phase for optimal performance: a seven-phase rather than six-phase nutritional guide based on data collected from customers.

Product specific guidance

The use of our nutritional guideline is essential for optimizing the performance of our animals. As a result, we have tailored our specifications for each of our products in the EMEA region: the Hybrid Grade MakerEVO and Hybrid ConverterNOVO. These specifications were designed partly through benchmark results from our customers in the field.

New seven phase diet

Additionally, in order to better follow the growth curve and to have more flexibility at different slaughter ages, we have decided to move from a six phase diet, to a seven phase diet. To achieve this, we've added an extra phase between 15 and 18 weeks for the Hybrid ConverterNOVO, and 14 to 16 weeks for the Hybrid Grade MakerEVO. This new phase will allow for a later slaughter, while maintaining optimal growth, as well as lower input cost.

High, Medium, and Low energy strategies

In the current economic context, the increase in feed costs due to inflation on the price of raw materials and energy impacts the profitability of all, so these new specifications propose a reduction in feed costs without impacting performance.

We have established customized ranges for low, medium and high energy diets. The medium energy guidelines correspond with the ideal recommendations, offering customers a more moderate cost, while optimizing performance.

The customized low or high energy ranges are designed to meet varying needs according to the context of each customer. For these guidelines, please contact our nutrition experts directly. All of our nutritional guidelines must be considered within the context of your own environment and rearing conditions. Don't hesitate to reach out to our nutritionists in order to gain personalized recommendations.

In summary, the updated nutritional guidelines for EMEA customers were created for the purpose of better performance as well as improved economic results. Contact us if you would like to learn more about supporting your flock with the best nutritional recommendations.
