New Laying Standards Released for the Hybrid ConverterNOVO

Continuous improvement is core to our business. To reflect this, we are pleased to release updated laying performance goals for the Hybrid ConverterNOVO, a heavy turkey strain optimized for the European turkey market.

These new standards, based on real data from the field, show an increase in number of eggs and improved hatchability - two critical metrics for parent stock customers. These standards result from continuous improvement in the speed and accuracy of our genetic engine as well as regionalized selection within our European pedigree facility.

Higher Egg Production

The new standard for egg production is 120.1 settable eggs at 26 weeks of lay, which is an increase of 5.1 eggs. The higher laying rates result from careful selection for egg production and livability, ensuring that hens maintain consistent performance throughout their laying cycles. With better productivity, turkey farmers can achieve higher yields without increasing flock sizes, creating more value for their operations.

Better Hatchability

Alongside higher egg production, the new standard for hatchability is 86.8% for hatch of set leading to saleable poults, an increase of +0.8%. Additionally, fertility at candling sits at 92.9% at 26 weeks of lay. Hatchability—defined as the percentage of eggs that successfully develop into poults—is a vital indicator of reproductive success. The new standards reflect a focus on the resulting poult quality from each egg, laying the foundation for healthy, robust flocks.

Benefits for Turkey Breeders

For turkey breeder customers, these new standards demonstrate an enhancement in genetic progress for the Hybrid ConverterNOVO. Increased egg production translates to higher profits, while improved hatchability minimizes waste and reduces input costs. Additionally, higher quality day-old poults lead to a stronger start and more efficient operations all throughout the value chain.

These new standards show that you can rely on optimized performance for the traits that matter in your operations. Don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our sales and technical service representatives to learn more about the Hybrid ConverterNOVO or any products in our portfolio.
